Duccio's Maesta

   This section is missing. General opinion is that it featured the Ascension of Christ, with  Christ in glory above.  Using work by different artists, I've tried to suggest some idea of what this section may have looked like. 
   An alternative suggestion is that the panel would be topped with an image of God the Father. This could apply to both back and front of the Maesta.
