Fra Angelico: the Cortona Tryptych
This painting is now in the Diocesan museum in Cortona, Umbria, alongside one of Fra Angelico's wonderful versions of the Annunciation. We were lucky to see both on our visit in 2014.  It was painted for the church of San Domenico in Cortona.
The central panel shows the Virgin and child: on the left are John the Baptist and John the Evangelist; on the right are Saint Matthew and Mary Magdalene. Above is a crucifixion scene, with Annunciation figures on either side.
